Jix: The Joomla Import Export & Update Utility

Importing dates from text files is always a tricky issue.  MySQL handles dates in the format yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss, yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm or yyyy-mm-dd ie 13th April 2010 at 9:34 pm would be 2010-04-13 21:34.

Use this format in your Jix Import files and you should be OK, otherwise Jix won't understand how to interpret the dates.

Note that Excel has a bit of a mind of its own and likes to reformat dates - best to format the date columns yyy-mm-dd just before you save and close the file.  On reopening, you might find that Excel has reformatted the date as it wishes.  So beware!
